As we close the chapter on 2025, we were able to all sit together as a team and reflect on a year that was filled with bold designs, meaningful relationships, creative challenges, and celebrations that reminded us why we do what we do. From intimate weddings to large-scale corporate events, this year pushed us to grow, adapt, and refine our craft and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Here’s a look at the themes that shaped our year and how they’re guiding what comes next for 2026.
Throughout the year, several weddings stood out as true reflections of how intentional design elevates the guest experience from the very first impression. There were many that really stood out we were able to reminisce on together.
Draping emerged as a defining element throughout the season. Sydney and Trevor’s wedding at Delray 817 illustrated how draping can do far more than frame a space. It can create a sense of arrival. Draping was intentionally used to highlight the welcome sign, immediately setting the tone as guests entered and guiding their experience from the very first moment they stepped into the venue. It was a party indeed and a night to remember!

At Avery and Tyler’s wedding at The Barn at Sunset Acres in Wisconsin, guest interaction took center stage through a custom hat bar that quickly became a focal point of the evening. More than just a fun moment, the hat bar was designed as an integrated element of the overall aesthetic, encouraging guests to engage the space while adding a touch of Avery and Tyler’s personality and energy to the reception (especially the dance floor).

Krista & Jeremy’s wedding at Happy Hollow Club showcased how design and production can transform a classic venue into something deeply personal and visually impactful. A wavy outdoor ceremony aisle created a striking first visual moment, while the reception fully utilized the interior space through layered design elements. A custom dance floor monogram, floral ceiling installations above the tables, knotted napkin rings, and abundant candlelight worked together to create depth, movement, and an elevated sense of intimacy throughout the room.

Morgan and Dillon’s wedding at the Omaha Country Club leaned into a design where the guest experience was thoughtfully considered at every turn. Individual cakes placed at each guest table created an unexpected and memorable moment, sparking conversation and interaction throughout the reception while reinforcing the idea that impactful design often lives in the details.

Together, these celebrations showcased a consistent theme throughout the season: when design choices are intentional and guest-focused, each element contributes to an experience that feels cohesive, immersive, and one to remember.
Trust was reflected across a wide range of events. From Jordan & Jacob’s wedding at the Magnolia Hotel to Kody & Jordan’s intimate backyard celebration, and Mariah & Sam’s wedding at one of Nebraska’s newest venues, The Acreage. Each event allowed room for thoughtful design paired with seamless execution. That same trust extended to our corporate and organization partners, including NASPL, CLAAS, Inspire, and Novonesis, who gave us the creative flexibility to translate brand goals into immersive, experience-driven environments.
One Staff Medical is a defining example of that relationship-driven work. After four years of collaboration, our partnership has evolved into one built on shared vision, creative trust, and execution. This winter, that trust culminated in their immersive Harry Potter–themed event at the Omaha Design Center, an event that was the cherry on top to end off this year.

The level of trust our clients placed in us was prominent this year and we can’t thank our clients enough. When that trust is present, the process becomes smoother and the events even better!
Growth doesn’t always look polished at the moment, but it’s always worth it.
This season included firsts across the board: from first-time design leads stepping confidently into their roles (a special shoutout to Mak for her immaculate design execution at the Ackerman wedding), to large-scale conferences beyond Nebraska, including hopping on a plane to Louisville for our event with NASPL at the Kentucky Derby Museum. We also took on events that required executing high volume of design and production within tight timelines. While some projects challenged us creatively, logistically, or both, each ultimately resulted in INCREDIBLE celebrations.
One of the most challenging, yet rewarding events of the year was the Nebraska Wedding Day Best of 2025 Awards Gala. Creative problem-solving and intentional use of space transformed The Joslyn Art Museum into a great party atmosphere. Leah Pieper’s photos captured the night beautifully, and to top it off, we won the Best Event Designer and Best Overall Wedding Professional! A defining moment for our team and an event we’ll never forget. Same time, next year?

We were reminded that surviving a demanding build often leads to sharper systems, better communication, and more confidence the next time around. Not every project is easy, but the right challenges help define who we are as 402 Events.
The best events are never built alone.
This year reinforced the value of collaboration, from our styled shoot with the Omaha Downtown Marriott at The Gallery that celebrated creative partnerships, to industry events that deepened vendor relationships. Working closely with venue teams, photographers, videographers, music creators, caterers, and many more of those we’ve collaborated with within this industry, elevated the final product and made the process more enjoyable and rewarding.
These partnerships don’t just benefit one event. They shape how our future events will come together more efficiently and creatively.

With every win came insight.
We learned the importance of clearer process documentation. That is defining scope, outlining roles, and setting expectations early, especially for complex or design-forward projects.
Beyond individual events, 2025 was also a meaningful year for how we support both our clients and our internal team. Most importantly, it empowered our employees to grow, lead, and take ownership of their roles, while giving our clients clarity, confidence, and a smoother experience from start to finish.

2025 took us on the road more than ever and with each destination brought new challenges, new collaborators, and new inspiration. This year strengthened our processes, deepened our relationships, and reaffirmed our commitment to intentional design and execution.
As we head into the new year, we’re carrying these lessons, wins, and memories with us and we’re excited for what’s next and grateful for everyone who trusted us with their events in 2025.
