Nebraska volleyball season is here, and with it comes a reminder of the athletes who have helped shape the legacy of this program. As summer has officially come to a close and we head into fall, we’re looking back at a celebration that kicked off our summer event season: Jordan Larson’s retirement celebration.
Some players leave their mark on the court. Others leave a lasting impact on the people, teams, and communities around them. Jordan Larson has done both. From her Nebraska roots to an extraordinary career as a four-time Olympian and one of the most respected leaders in the sport, Jordan’s impact reaches far beyond her accomplishments on the court.
Hosted at The Relevant Center, the evening brought together family, friends, teammates, coaches, and supporters to celebrate Jordan, her career, and the relationships that have been part of her journey. The design was refined, warm, and timeless, creating a setting that felt elevated while still allowing the people and the celebration to take center stage.

Lush white florals and layers of cascading candlelight by Lavish Floral Design filled the room, while our production team added warm uplighting and a custom Jordan Larson GOBO projection on the dance floor, bringing a personalized touch to the space.
Long tables surrounded the dance floor, creating a layout that kept the room feeling connected and brought guests right into the heart of the celebration. A custom illuminated backdrop and glowing circular bar by Wallflower Relic added striking focal points to the room, while ivory velvet linens, acrylic mirror runners, and glassware from Diehl Event Rentals complemented the candlelit tablescapes. Black wishbone chairs paired with elegant place settings and stainless flatware from Catalyst Event Rentals brought a modern touch to the tables.
Custom stationery, from menus at each place setting to bar signage and table numbers, tied the details together and carried the design throughout the evening.

From the candlelit tablescapes to the custom details throughout the room, every element came together to create a setting that felt personal to the evening and celebration.

The evening began with a cocktail hour featuring a roaming saxophonist, creating an energetic and welcoming atmosphere as guests arrived and reconnected.

Following cocktail hour, guests enjoyed dinner catered by Abraham Catering before one of the most memorable moments of the evening: a heartfelt and hilarious roast of Jordan. Filled with stories, laughter, and plenty of personality, the roast offered a glimpse into the relationships and experiences that have shaped her career.

As the evening continued, Downtown Collective took the stage with a live band and DJ combination. Their saxophone player had already been a hit during cocktail hour, and the full band was the perfect way to carry that energy into the rest of the night.
And when the night called for a late-night snack, we couldn’t leave out one of Jordan’s favorites: Chick-fil-A. Because what’s a celebration without a little grub to cap off the night?

For our team, one of the greatest privileges of this celebration was the opportunity to build a relationship with Jordan throughout the planning process. As longtime fans of Jordan and Nebraska Husker volleyball, getting to know the person behind the accomplishments made this event especially meaningful.

We came into the process admiring her career, but we left with an even greater appreciation for the person she is. There may have even been a little fangirling along the way…. (okay, there definitely was); But seeing her reaction as she walked into the finished space and watched the evening unfold was one of our favorite moments of the entire process.
Beyond the design, production, and details, what made this celebration special was the opportunity to honor someone whose influence reaches far beyond her accomplishments on the court. And now, with Jordan returning to LOVB Nebraska for the 2026-27 season, we’re getting to watch another chapter unfold.
Here’s to another season, another chapter, and plenty more reasons to cheer from the sidelines.
And of course, can’t forget….
